boots, latte, road trip!

It’s almost #FallYall! It doesn’t get much better than hitting the open road with my Country Outfitter boots and a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

I know a lot of people prefer summer to any other season. I am not one of those people. Sure, summer offers sunny travel, no weather delays, and it’s harder to catch a cold. But summer also brings allergies, bugs, lawn mowing, weed-fighting, and favorite vacation spots are sure to be jam packed. I prefer the cooler weather, with bright, orange and yellow leaves, pumpkin picking, and especially fall and winter fashion. Give me a cozy sweater and a rugged pair of boots any day over shorts and flip flops.

Fall is also our season for family travel, since we’re homeschoolers. When most kids are back in school, popular destinations are less crowded and less costly, but the weather can fluctuate wildly. You could get an 85-degree day that plunges to the low 40s in the evening. The key to packing for fall travel is layers and flexible shoes. That’s where my boots come in.

I’ve got a nice collection of boots. Fashion boots that look great with jeans, combat boots that I originally bought for a Halloween costume, but have served me well in the colder months, and cowboy boots that perfectly compliment skinny jeans, leggings, and dresses.

Boots are perfect for fall travel.

Cowboy boots can be dressed up or dressed down.

That’s what makes cowboy boots perfect for travel – they go with anything. You can dress them up or down, and they’re comfortable enough to see you through an all-day walking tour. And cowboy boots are just plain cool.

I bought my first pair of cowboy boots in Fort Worth, Texas. I remember the mind-boggling choices and the wonderful service I experienced at M.L. Leddy’s in the Stockyards District. I wore my new boots – the ultimate souvenir! – out of the store and for the rest of my visit. I got hooked on cowgirl fashion, which is hard to find back home in New Jersey. On the hunt for cowgirl style and comfort, I discovered Country Outfitter.

These beauties are the latest addition to my collection!

A couple of weeks ago, my second pair of cowboy boots arrived. I’ve got two awesome pairs now, but I’ve still got my eye on the ones with the turquoise and glitter. I think this might become a habit.
